Birth is not a medical emergency.
It’s a physiological process.

For decades, I’ve witnessed birth inside institutions — and outside of them.

What I trust is not fear-based care, but women’s capacity when they are informed, respected, and supported in their autonomy.

Traditional Birth Attendant Austin, TX | Thirteen Moons

13 moons

I’ve seen this from every side.

I’ve attended births for more than thirty years.
As a doula.
As a labor & delivery nurse.
And outside the medical system entirely.

That perspective changes what you notice — and what you no longer accept as “normal.”

Experience teaches you when to intervene.
Wisdom teaches you when not to.

Modern maternity care has taught women to doubt their bodies and defer their decisions. Risk is emphasized. Responsibility is outsourced. Consent is reduced to a signature.

I believe birth deserves context, not coercion.
Understanding, not pressure.
Choice that is real — not rushed.

My work exists for women who want information without fear, and support without surrendering their authority.

You don’t need to be managed to give birth.

This work is not for everyone.

It’s not for people who want to be told what to do.
It’s not for those seeking guarantees or permission.
It’s not for anyone uncomfortable with personal responsibility.

It is for women who want to understand their options, trust themselves, and remain at the center of their own experience.

If that feels steady rather than scary, you’re in the right place.

You don’t need more opinions.
You need clarity.

This space exists to offer perspective, education, and grounded support — without urgency, without fear tactics, and without pretending one size fits all.

Take what resonates.
Leave what doesn’t.
