Obstetric and licensed midwifery care are regulated medical models. Do you attend home births?
Yes — I attend planned home births for families who desire intimate, family-led experiences. My role is non-medical and centered on support, presence, and advocacy for physiological birth.

Do you work alongside midwives or OBs?

Do you provide postpartum care?
Absolutely. I consider postpartum a sacred transition. My care includes physical and emotional support, herbal and nutritional guidance, and traditional healing practices such as:

  • Closing of the Bones Ceremony: A gentle, ritual process to energetically and physically “close” the body after birth, bringing warmth, containment, and integration.

  • Traditional Bengkung Belly Binding: A Malaysian method of wrapping the abdomen to support posture, pelvic stability, and healing after birth.
These offerings honor postpartum as a time for deep rest, nourishment, and reconnection.

Partnership & Communication

How do we communicate during pregnancy and postpartum?
I prefer text for quick updates and questions, and I respond as promptly as possible during daytime hours. Longer conversations or emotional processing are best saved for our scheduled visits so I can give you my full attention.

What do you expect from clients?
I ask for open, honest communication about your health, emotional needs, and any changes in your condition. Please maintain scheduled appointments or give at least 24 hours’ notice if rescheduling is necessary. Choose supportive companions who honor your privacy and birth choices.

What kind of birth environment do you encourage?
Quiet, dimly lit, and grounded in love. Birth unfolds best in environments that feel safe, private, and free from external pressure.

Boundaries & Logistics

When are you on call for birth?
I am on call beginning at 36 completed weeks of pregnancy based on our agreed due date. If you go into labor before that, I will help arrange appropriate support but do not attend early home births.

What if you can’t make it to my birth?
If I’m unable to attend due to illness, weather, family emergency, or simultaneous births, I’ll make every reasonable effort to arrange a trusted backup support provider at no cost to you. Refunds are only issued if I am entirely unavailable and no mutually acceptable backup can be secured.

What happens if medical care becomes necessary?
If a situation arises requiring medical attention, I’ll encourage you to consult or transfer to a licensed provider. You remain in charge of your care and decisions. I may accompany you in a supportive capacity but do not speak for you or provide medical treatment.

What happens in an emergency?
Emergencies are rare, but in the event of an unexpected, urgent situation, I may voluntarily offer aid under Texas Good Samaritan protections — solely to preserve life or prevent serious harm until qualified emergency responders arrive.

What is the legal nature of your services?
All services are offered within a private, non-medical agreement between consenting adults. This is a personal, educational, and spiritual relationship, not a medical one.

Postpartum Healing & Traditional Care

What is Closing of the Bones?
Closing of the Bones is a traditional postpartum ceremony practiced in many cultures worldwide. Through gentle wrapping, massage, warmth, and intentional touch, it supports the body in coming back together after pregnancy and birth — physically, emotionally, and energetically.

What is Bengkung Belly Binding?
Bengkung Belly Binding is a traditional Malaysian technique of wrapping the abdomen with a long cotton cloth during postpartum recovery. It supports pelvic alignment, core stability, organ repositioning, and a sense of being “held” as the body heals. It’s both structural and ceremonial, honoring the postpartum body with reverence and care.

Every aspect of this work — from prenatal preparation to the postpartum period — is rooted in trust, sovereignty, and connection. Birth is not something you need to be saved from; it’s something you can be supported through. My role is simply to help you remember what your body already knows.
