comprehensive, embodied birth support

🌿 Working Together

(Private page – shared by invitation)

This page outlines how I work with women who are considering ongoing, relationship-based support through pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum.

It’s shared intentionally after an initial conversation, so you can take time to sit with the structure of the work and decide whether it feels aligned for you.

There is no expectation to move forward simply because you’re reading this. Moving forward is always a mutual decision.

How This Work Is Held

My work is continuity-based and relational.

It isn’t a standardized program or checklist of services. It is a steady partnership that evolves alongside your pregnancy — shaped by your questions, circumstances, and the natural rhythm of this season.

I have been in birth work for more than three decades, including years inside the hospital system and extensive experience across home and community settings. I have attended over a thousand births. That time in the room matters. It means I have seen birth unfold in many forms — quiet and intense, straightforward and complex — and I bring that lived pattern recognition into the way I support you.

Rather than offering rigid steps or scripted plans, I walk beside you. We slow down when decisions arise. We look at context. We make space for clarity rather than urgency.

The structure below describes how support is held — not instructions for how your birth should unfold.

What This Work Centers

At the heart of this work is a commitment to keeping you at the center of your experience.

Together, we focus on:

• staying grounded in physiology rather than fear
• understanding recommendations before reacting to them
• maintaining your authority over your body and choices
• steady presence during intensity, uncertainty, or transition
• reflecting back what’s happening so you can orient clearly

I don’t manage birth.
I don’t make decisions for you.
I don’t replace medical providers or act as authority over outcomes.

I support you in staying connected to your own knowing — especially when things feel loud or fast.

The Relationship

When we work together, the relationship typically includes:

• ongoing conversation throughout pregnancy
• space to process recommendations, research, and options as they arise
• preparation rooted in understanding rather than scripting
• continuity of presence in late pregnancy and labor
• integration support in the days and weeks after birth

This isn’t task-based care.

It’s built on trust, communication, steadiness, and mutual respect.

Because this work depends on depth and availability, I intentionally limit my client load to two to three families per month. When I commit to someone, I create space for that commitment. You are not one of many. You are the work in front of me.

You are not hiring birth support, you are partnering with someone who is not just invested in your autonomy & experience, but who is invested in YOU.

Availability & Presence

Within the agreed container of care, this may include:

• being present during labor and birth
• steady communication as questions arise
• postpartum integration support

Details around timing, access, and boundaries are discussed directly and clearly so expectations are shared and understood.

Practical Considerations

Because this work is relational rather than procedural:

• there are no promised outcomes
• flexibility is essential
• communication matters more than rigid schedules
• responsibility for decisions remains with you

Financial structure, timing, and logistics are discussed privately and confirmed in writing once we’ve both decided to move forward.

What This Work Is Not

This work is not:

• medical care
• diagnosis or treatment
• a substitute for licensed providers

I do not provide clinical services or medical recommendations. This support exists alongside whatever medical care or additional providers you choose.

Deciding Whether This Is a Fit

You don’t need to decide immediately.

Notice how this approach feels in your body.

If it feels steady, clarifying, and supportive — that’s meaningful.

If it feels misaligned or too open-ended — that’s meaningful too.

Moving forward is always a mutual decision.

🌿 Tier One — Focused Birth Support

(Comprehensive, Embodied Birth Support)

Begin: Third trimester (around 28-30 weeks)
Depth: Focused preparation
Access: Standard communication + on-call support

This tier is designed for families who feel relatively grounded and want experienced, steady support as birth approaches — without months of intensive preparation.

We begin in the third trimester and focus on what matters most as labor nears: clarity, context, and connection.

This support includes:

• Focused prenatal sessions to explore your birth preferences, questions, and any decisions needing context
• Preparation for postpartum recovery and newborn transition
• On-call availability beginning at 37 weeks
• Continuous in-person labor support
• Birth and immediate postpartum photography (support and presence always take priority)
• One postpartum integration visit
• Ongoing communication within agreed boundaries

This is non-medical, continuity-based support held with steadiness and respect for your autonomy.

Investment: $3,600

🌿 Tier Two — Continuity Birth Support

(Comprehensive, Embodied Birth Support)

Begin: Mid-pregnancy (around 20–24 weeks)
Depth: Ongoing relational preparation
Access: Expanded communication + integration

This tier is designed for families who want time to build trust, unpack conditioning, and prepare emotionally and strategically before labor begins.

Beginning in mid-pregnancy allows us to move at a steadier rhythm. Instead of compressing everything into the final weeks, we create space to understand your values, process recommendations in context, and strengthen your nervous system for the intensity of birth.

This support includes:

• Ongoing prenatal sessions with increasing rhythm as birth approaches
• Nervous system and somatic preparation
• Partner integration and shared understanding
• Space to process medical recommendations and options as they arise
• On-call availability beginning at 37 weeks
• Continuous in-person labor support
• Two postpartum integration sessions
• Expanded communication support within agreed boundaries

This tier offers deeper continuity and integration — not just preparation for labor, but preparation for how you want to move through the experience.

Investment: $5,200

(Most families choose this tier for the balance of depth and structure.)

🌿 Tier Three — Immersive Birth Support

(Comprehensive, Embodied Birth Support)

Begin: Early pregnancy (first or early second trimester)
Depth: Full-spectrum integration
Access: High-touch continuity + extended support

This tier is designed for families who want early, comprehensive continuity throughout pregnancy — not just preparation for birth, but deeper integration of the entire journey.

Beginning early allows us to move slowly and intentionally. We build trust, strengthen nervous system capacity, explore beliefs and patterns around birth, and prepare relationally — not just logistically.

This support includes:

• Monthly prenatal sessions beginning early pregnancy, increasing in frequency as birth approaches
• Advanced somatic and breathwork integration
• Ongoing partner preparation and shared decision-making work
• Space to process evolving recommendations, risk discussions, and options in real time
• Expanded communication access throughout pregnancy
• On-call availability beginning at 37 weeks
• Continuous in-person labor support
• Three postpartum integration sessions
• Optional extended postpartum closing or ceremony

This tier is for families who want the fullest container of continuity — where preparation, embodiment, and support are woven throughout the entire pregnancy.

Investment: $6,800

🌿 Postpartum Ritual & Integration Add-Ons

The postpartum period is a profound threshold — a time of healing, recalibration, and becoming.

While your primary birth support focuses on pregnancy and labor, these offerings are available as optional additions for families who want to mark and support the transition into motherhood with intentional care.

Each practice is offered with respect for tradition, consent, and your individual needs.

🌿 Placenta Encapsulation

$300–$350 (depending on preparation style)

Your placenta sustained life. For some families, honoring it through encapsulation feels meaningful during the postpartum transition.

This offering includes encapsulation preparation as well as a cord keepsake and printed art.

(Placenta encapsulation is not medical care and is offered as a traditional postpartum practice.)

🌿 Benkung Belly Binding

$200

Belly binding is a traditional postpartum practice that offers warmth, containment, and physical support during recovery.

This session includes in-home binding in the Benkung tradition and instruction so you can continue the practice comfortably.

🌿 Herbal Vaginal Steam

$200

A gentle, traditional practice used by some women postpartum to create intentional space for rest and reconnection.

Herbal selection and timing are discussed individually to ensure comfort and consent.

(Not appropriate immediately postpartum — timing is always considered carefully.)

🌿 Closing of the Bones Ceremony

$200

Offered around 6–8 weeks postpartum, this ceremony marks the transition from pregnancy into motherhood.

It includes warmth, gentle holding, and guided integration — an opportunity to reflect, release, and be witnessed.

You might end the section with:

These offerings are not required for our work together. They are available for families who feel called to mark postpartum as a sacred and supported passage.

🌿 Investment, Agreement & Payment Structure

Reserving your due window requires a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer of 50% of your package price.

Because I accept a limited number of clients in order to provide continuity-based support, your retainer secures both your space in my calendar and my on-call availability.

Payment plans are available and can be discussed during our consultation.

Full payment is required by 34 weeks of pregnancy to ensure uninterrupted on-call support and labor availability.

All financial details, scope of support, and boundaries are clearly outlined in the written agreement before we move forward.

This work is relational and intentional. Moving forward is always a mutual decision.

My husband and I paid for the all-inclusive birth package... Joni is a truly incredible person! One of the most amazing people I’ve ever met - we loved her from day one, and now 2 months postpartum, we love her even more. To share such an intimate part of your life with someone is a lifelong bonding experience and we feel blessed that Joni will always be a part of our story. She has a heart of gold, a wealth of knowledge from being a labor & delivery nurse for years, and tons of personal experience through her own births... We honestly can’t imagine doing labor without her. It was our first time and my labor had some challenges - Joni was on call and available whenever, so supportive and educational and we could never say thank you enough to her. On top of that, we have some of the most intimate and beautiful photos of our little man being born ❤️.

🌿 Care That Centers the Woman

Birth is not something done to a woman.
It is something she moves through.

My work is rooted in the belief that the pregnant woman remains at the center of all decision-making.

That isn’t symbolic. It’s structural.

Centering her means:

Informed Choice
Sharing knowledge in context — so decisions are made with clarity rather than pressure.

Honored Autonomy
Trusting her inner knowing and supporting her right to choose without coercion or hierarchy.

Holistic Support
Attending to the emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual layers of pregnancy and birth.

Embodied Confidence
Strengthening her connection to her body, so she can move through intensity with steadiness.

Voice & Presence
Supporting her ability to speak, ask questions, and remain oriented in moments of uncertainty.

This is not about directing outcomes.
It is about protecting space for her discernment.

That is what makes the work sacred — not spectacle, but alignment.
